C'mon on Cubbies!

September is here and Cub fans are frustrated, as usual!

Yesterday's game was the worst! 12 innings! And on top of that, it didn't need to go to 12 innings if LaTroy Hawkins could only make 1 pitch! 1 pitch and the game would have been over in the 9th. But no, the stinker gave it up again. Ah, the days of September.

Kuddos to Mr. Steve who was at the game who brought me my long coveted Cubs claw! He stayed for the whole game, saw him pull in to his driveway about 6:30 pm from a 1:30 game.

Tell me your Cub woes. Were you at the infamous game last year? Were you there in 1989 or even 1998? (Why can't I remember that the Cubs were doing so well that year?) Oh how about 1984? Anything earlier than that, well, you must be a bit older than me or had too much to Old Style in your youth to think the Cubs were doing pretty well. However, I take that back. There is always 1969!

Talk to you tomorrow! Homecoming game is then!

Fall is near!

Tuesday greetings to you all:

As I type, the sun is shining but gloomy clouds come and go as the weather cools from mid 80's to mid 60's. Leaves are falling even before turning color, probably due to the dry weather we have had in September. But all is well.

My finger is improving. It is not as swollen today and the color is fading a bit.

Work today involves Girl Scout management stuff, mailings and a bit of painting. Yes, I am still working in my kitchen. The bulk of painting is done, just working on trim and one small wall section plus a bit of touch up here and there. I learned something from all those home improvement shows that you can get small brushes to add a bit here and there in places where your painters tape have pulled a bit of color away. Fun.

Okay, now I am going to try to add a link to this site. The first one is for Girl Scouts: www.ilcrossroads.org

The second one is for the new company I work for - Happy Jack Designs out of Round Lake Beach: www.happyjackdesigns.com

Check them out!

Update on my finger!

Greetings to all!

Just wanted to let you know that I went to the doctor this afternoon as the bruising on my finger that I mysteriously injured yesterday had been getting worse. It doesn't hurt, but, boy! It is colorful! So the doctor looked at it, tested the ligaments, ordered an x-ray and all appears fine and dandy. Diagnosis - a pulled muscle! I laughed when the doctor asked if I wanted a splint. Well, after painting trim all morning without a woe, I declined.

Great to know that the health care system works for me.

Now, after an exciting volleyball game where Anna scored 2 points, we are off to Applebees!

Have a good night and GO CUBBIES!

Monday Morning!

A sleepy good morning to you all!

The weather has turned colder and the leaves are starting to drop. It has been soooo dry here that the leaves make a crunch when they fall on the ground. Everyone is glad to finally be putting away summer clothes - yes, the white shoes will have to be packed away until next year.

Finally I got the "enter" key to work properly.

Had a nice time listening to Breakfast with the Beatles yesterday. Did you know that in the song "I'm only sleeping" that John instructs Paul to yawn during the recording and that Paul makes his "yawn debute" a couple of seconds later! Yeap, that is Paul.

Let's see, the question of the day . . . . what is a brisket? Is it a cut of meat or a style of cooking a particular piece of meat??

More later - have a great day!

Sunday Morning!

Greetings friends: As I write this, I am still have woes about how to navigate around this page so any help you can give me would be great. For example, how do I start a new paragraph as the "enter" key is not working right. Maybe it is the computer, maybe not. This has been a very weird morning! I either pulled a ligament or got stung by something which made my middle finger on my right hand swell and hurt really badly! It is still swollen, but not numb anymore thank goodness! The first knuckle is purple on the palm side. Weird!!! Now all this nonsense with the "enter key". Finally, we got all our Easter Holiday plans taken care of which I will go in depth about more later. What is going on in your life??? How is your Day in the Life treating you??

Saturday night happenings!

Greetings again.

Well, I did a bit of posting and got myself all turned around and couldn't quite figure out how to get back to this spot so I can see I will need a bit of practice. But had a good day today, even tho the Cubs did loose in extra innings. What happened to our bullpin?? Walks will hurt ya everytime, says good ole Number 10, Ron Santo. By the by, get better soon buddy!!! However, he might have keeled over during today's game. Pat Hughes just sounded so blue after the Met's game winning home run. Oh, well, there is more baseball this week which means that I will be sewing again. Hopefully I can figure out how to post more pictures here tomorrow. Good night for now!

Initial Greetings!

Welcome, welcome and welcome!

This is my first attempt at a blog!! Seems like the cool thing to do, to have one of these little pages to chat about whatever comes to my mind. There are soooo many things to talk about! Hope you enjoy reading it and add a bit of what you find whimsy and interesting as well. Maybe we will have a topic of the day, or a question of the day or the like. Who knows!
